Geoffrey Pope refurbishment

A multi-million pound refurbishment of the Geoffrey Pope building on Streatham Campus, to enhance its research and teaching facilities and support the School’s ambitions to be a leading international centre for research and teaching in biosciences, has been completed.

The new facilities include a fully-operational research suite, three high-quality research facilities, four specialist laboratories to cater for chemical, biochemical and analytical needs, and state-of-the-art aquaria.

The newly transformed Geoffrey Pope building also includes an extended teaching laboratory, 130 desk spaces for postgraduates and a refurbished foyer with networked PCs and Wi-Fi access.

£5million had already been invested in the Geoffrey Pope building to improve the main teaching lab and a section of the research facilities. The additional investment is being made in line with the University Science Strategy, a policy to invest £80million in science over the next three years.
