Retail in the Forum

Within the Forum there will be a number of new and refurbished retail and catering outlets for students, staff and visitors to the University to enjoy.  The outlets have been designed to complement one another, offering a range of services throughout the day.  There will be a strong focus on high quality, value for money goods and first class customer service. 

In addition, the Piazza outside the main building will continue to provide a perfect location for the popular Farmers’ Markets and the street will come alive with local suppliers launching new products and providing free tastings throughout the year.

Market Place 

Over 400sqm of retail space which will be located in the street opposite the Library. 

The outlet will be open up to 14 hours a day selling a range of items from takeaway sandwiches, snacks and drinks, through to fresh fruit and vegetables, a range of local produce from the delicatessen and a variety of bakery items.  There will also be a royal mail parcel service, online book ordering and collection facility and dry cleaning.

Terrace Restaurant

Terrace Restaurant opened in Summer 2011.  The Devonshire House kitchen area, which was previously known as the ‘Re:fresh dining room’,  underwent a 12 month refurbishment as part of the Forum project and was renamed as ‘Terrace Restaurant’.

The improvements included a newly fitted open plan kitchen and servery area, which allows customers to watch the chefs in a theatre style environment. 

The restaurant is located on the 1st floor of Devonshire House and in Spring 2012 a new roof terrace area will be opened for customers providing panoramic views.
