The University intends that all its activities should have a positive impact on its stakeholders and should improve the quality of living, studying and working environment of its staff and students.About Corporate Responsibility at the University of Exeter
Corporate Responsibility is
“the management of a university’s positive impact on society and the environment through its operations, products or services and through its interaction with key stakeholders such as employees, students, investors, funders and research partners, communities and suppliers.” Universities that Count (2008)
Corporate Responsibility is really about ‘how we do things around here’, how we behave as a corporate citizen. It is part of how we govern ourselves and is included in the University’s Dual Assurance mechanism.
Corporate Responsibility, or CR as its known, focuses on 4 main areas:
- our workplace (staff and our governance)
- the community (the people and places in which we operate)
- the marketplace (our students, other customers, suppliers and investors / funders)
- the environment
