The importance of digital technology

As technology becomes ever more widely used in work and education, the University is ensuring that it is used to enhance the educational experiences of our students. Key to this is raising the digital literacies of our staff and students, that is their ability to effectively choose and make use of digital technology.

Digital technology will be an essential element of the way that we can take forward the Education Strategy. The use of technology will support the delivery of content in face-to-face settings through blended learning through online settings and it will really enhance how the education at Exeter looks. Digital technologies themselves are not the solution but the way we use them and the way we incorporate them into our curriculum to really make this an outstanding education experience will be essential to achieve some of the aims.”

The e-Learning team are working to provide support to all staff and students for including technology in their Exeter experience. Their technology enhanced learning events are a great source of inspiration and provide the opportunity to talk to colleagues about their experiences.

Aim 5: First class education and technology
