An innovative form of assessment

Jo Gill incorporated an innovative and motivating assessment model which tests different skills. She designed an independent study project where students can submit a creative piece to showcase their ability to synthesise and critique critical materials. She also provided opportunities for students to develop their skills as researchers, by working with Special Collections, Devon Libraries, and the National Trust.

Aim 3: Research-inspired, inquiry-led learning
To extend the opportunities for students to learn in innovative ways through their own research and inquiry

Innovative and motivating assessment

"I wanted a form of assessment that allowed [students] to... experiment".
