Disability support from AccessAbility
Supporting students with specific learning difficulties
AccessAbility supports over 700 students with specific learning difficulties, including dyslexia.
We support students with specific learning difficulties by:
- providing screening for specific learning difficulties
- arranging an Educational Psychologist's assessment
- arranging examination requirements such as extra time in exams
- producing an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) with the student to inform teaching staff of the student's needs
- providing note takers
- advising on funding
- providing 1:1 specialist study skills
We have information for staff on dyslexia marking guidelines. We also maintain the Access to Learning website, which contains information about accessible learning and teaching, and supporting students with dyslexia.
If you have a query about supporting students with specific learning difficulties, or would like further training, please contact us.
