
In our residences, we have a dedicated Residence Life Team who live alongside other residents to offer support and advice on a range matters.
Residence Life Team Members Required
We are currently seeking a number of approachable, supportive students to join the Residence Life Team for the 2011-12 academic year (based in Exeter).
As a Residence Life Mentor, you would be responsible for supporting a group of students living in University accommodation, helping them to have a positive experience of their time in residence and empowering them to resolve any problems. In return, we provide Mentors with accommodation in a University residence at a discounted rate, and the opportunity to further develop their skills whilst performing this rewarding role.

Residence Life Team
Throughout the University there is a comprehensive range of wellbeing services offered, as well as our 24/7 security response team.
In our residences, we are proud to offer our Residence Life Team who offer support and advice on a range matters. This can include practical issues around communal living, queries about accommodation or local facilities, and welfare issues and guidance on other matters; to name but a few. They also encourage social cohesion and participation whilst living in residence.
It is important that you get to know your support team, they will arrange to meet with you from time to time during your stay in our accommodation.
How do I contact the Residence Life Team?
- A full list of the Residence Life Team members and their contact details are displayed in each block of the catered halls, or Reception/Porters Lodge in the self catered residences.
- The Residence Life Team are normally around at mealtimes in catered halls and may also be contacted via the Reception/Porters Lodge.
- If you need to contact a member of the Residence Life Team at a time when they are not around, the Reception/Porters Lodge in your residence will be able to help you.
- Messages can be left in the relevant Residence Life Team member letter boxes in the Reception/Porters Lodge.

If you are a member of the University’s staff or a postgraduate student and are interested in the welfare of students living in the University’s Halls of Residence, perhaps you’d like to consider applying to be a member of the Residence Support Team.
