Postgraduates

All students are welcome to apply for our self-catered postgraduate accommodation options.

Residences vary in style and size and are located both on and near to our campuses, allowing you to save time and money for more enjoyable pastimes than commuting. Our maps show where each residence is in relation to other University buildings and the city centre.

Preferred choice of accommodation

During the application process you will be asked for your accommodation preferences.

We make every effort to allocate accommodation according to your preferred choices but due to the high demand for certain residences it may not be possible to offer you any of your preferred choices. In these circumstances we use your stated preferences as a guide to the type of accommodation you would prefer and automatically offer you alternative accommodation.

For new postgraduate students, the accommodation process will begin once your course offer has been accepted and, if necessary, a deposit has been paid to secure your academic place. Current postgraduates should apply as returning students.

Accommodation applications for the 2012/13 academic year open on 16 April 2012.

If we are able to offer you accommodation we will do so between July and September.  Please note that this process can take some time, and you will receive email confirmation when we have any updates for you.

Please read through the offer of accommodation carefully and make sure it is suitable for your needs (even if it does not meet your stated preferences). You do not have to accept an offer of accommodation if it is not going to be suitable for you.
