About us

Global Advancement is responsible for building long-term relationships with the University’s alumni and supporters around the world.

We're in touch with more than 155,000 alumni in 183 countries across the world. Exeter graduates have been making a positive difference to the lives of others for over 100 years. From internationally recognised business people and lawyers, to inspirational politicians and teachers, to critically acclaimed journalist and artists, this is a fellowship of friends and peers.

Our alumni and friends and have helped Exeter become one of the very best universities in the world. Alumni support the university in many different ways. Some donate to support our research, facilities or student experience. Some volunteer their time helping current students and fellow alumni around the world. Some simply inspire us with their incredible achievements.

We have just closed the University's largest ever fundraising Campaign, 'Making the Exceptional Happen', which aimed to raise £60 million and 60,000 volunteering hours by 2020. In fact, thanks to our alumni and supporters we raised more than £71 million and 103,000 hours.

The Campaign was designed to grow research in four key areas: Health, Living Systems, Sustainable Futures, and Society and Culture, as well as supporting students to achieve their potential through scholarships, bursaries, sports and enhancing employability.
