Research Speed Updating
The University of Exeter is justly proud of its world-class research, which focuses on some of the larger issues of the day, from climate change to conflict in the Middle East. In the last Research Assessment Exercise in 2008, nearly 90% of Exeter’s research was rated at being at internationally recognised levels. Every subject was assessed as including world-leading (4*) research.
Exeter has created large interdisciplinary colleges to encourage the creative exchange of ideas. We bring scientists, artists, academics and the business community together to find life-changing solutions to pressing issues.
Research Speed Updating is a regular information sharing event at which a diverse range of academics offer the audience a four minute talk about the work they are undertaking and its significance. These light-hearted sessions are regulated with the use of an infamous squeaky carrot which is sounded to advise when there are just 30 seconds left to go. A kitchen timer sounds when the four minutes is up.
We hope you enjoy these sessions, which are provided by Research and Knowledge Transfer at the University of Exeter.
