With reductions in legal aid availability and the proposed cuts to the scope of public funding in key areas such as family and social welfare, initiatives such as the Community Legal Helpdesk are becoming increasingly important in ensuring access to justice. The Wainwright Walk will raise vital funds to support the work of the Community Legal Helpdesk in Exeter.

The walk will take place on 9 March 2012, starting at the University of Exeter Campus. Registration will take place in the main University Reception from 13:45, with groups of walkers setting off between 14:00 and 15:00. The route will start by going around the beautiful campus, and then into the city centre, with stops at some significant and historic legal landmarks. The walk will finish at Exeter Combined Court on Southernhay, followed by a reception at the nearby offices of Foot Anstey LLP.
