Frequently Asked Questions

What is the 'Class of...' project?

The Class of... project is a chance for the graduating class to give something back to their University by raising money for the Annual Fund. A committee of final year students are responsible for organising this project, with the support of the Development and Alumni Relations Office.

What will donations be spent on?

The Annual Fund supports a wide variety of projects across the University which otherwise would not receive funding. All projects aim to enhance the student experience and are directed to areas of greatest need and applications for funding are received from every area of the University. Each year, a panel made up of University staff, the Students' Guild and current donors meet to decide on which projects receive funding.

There is no minimum donation. The project encourages participation amongst final year students and helps them to feel that they have been part of something together. If every final year student gave just £1, a target of £3,000 could easily be reached.

I have already paid my tuition fees, why should I give more money to the University?

Your donations will not be going to the University to fund normal university life and tuition. All Class of... donations will go to the Annual Fund, meaning that you will be leaving a legacy for future students to enjoy the Exeter experience.

How can I give?

You can support the project in a variety of ways. Look out for events that will be running throughout the year across the campuses, visit the Just Giving page, donate online at the University's website or fill in a donation form and return to the address provided. You can also give your time by volunteering at an event, or joining the Class of... committee.

How can I help raise money for the Class of... project? Who can I contact to become more involved?

You can help raise money for the Class of... project by becoming a member of the committee. We are always looking for representatives from each college including our Cornwall and St Luke's campuses. Alternatively, you can help support the committee members by becoming a volunteer and help in a variety of ways. If you are interested in joining the committee or becoming a volunteer please email us.

I'm on the Cornwall campus, is this anything to do with me?

Yes! We are looking for final year students from the Cornwall campus to lead their own Class of... project and raise funds to support a project on the Tremough campus.
