"Giving talks to students is a great way to keep in touch and offers a unique opportunity to inspire and motivate the graduates of the future."
Ben Norris (Psychology, 1999)
Assistant Director, Numeritas Ltd
ANG Role: Life and Environmental Sciences
After graduating from Exeter I moved to London to train as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG, specialising in the Financial Sector. After I qualified in 2002, I spent two years working in their Corporate Recovery Team in the Cayman Islands, before returning to London to join their Financial Modelling group.
In 2006 I decided to start my own financial modelling consultancy, providing specialist financial modelling, advanced Excel and VBA advice and services to clients. I ran this business for two years before joining Numeritas where I am currently an Assistant Director.
Supporting the University as an alumni volunteer is something I find hugely rewarding. Giving talks to students is a great way to keep in touch and catch up with fellow graduates but, more importantly, it offers a unique opportunity to inspire and motivate the graduates of the future.
I joined the Alumni Network Group in 2008 with responsibility for recent alumni activity, helping to establish Exetra – the University’s group for recent alumni. I am now co-lead for Life and Environmental Sciences, with fellow alumnus Jon O’Sullivan.
As a member of the Alumni Network Group I feel that I am part of an external group who can give the University independent advice drawing on our varied business and life experiences that will hopefully keep the University on the upwards trajectory it has been enjoying.
