I am chairman of hotel group De Vere, a director of investment trust, Fidelity China Special Situations, chairman of the Advisory Board of City stockbroker, Westhouse Securities and a trustee of the Design Museum and of the Conran Foundation.

After graduation I qualified as a chartered accountant and then spent 30 years in banking with Morgan Grenfell (subsequently Deutsche Bank), Société Générale, and ABNAMRO, working in London, Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong.

I have been a member of Council of the University since 2009 and currently hold additional responsibility for Alumni Affairs & Fundraising and Sport & Wellness. I chaired the Fundraising Campaign Board 'Creating a world-class University together' and I am a member of the University's College of Benefactors.

I joined the Alumni Network Group in 2008 and acted as the Group’s link to the University’s fundraising campaign until the Campaign’s successful completion in 2011.
