Tell us about the award you have received. What does this award mean to you?

I received the Public International Law Prize for achieving top marks in the Public International Law module this year. I am proud to have achieved this award as the module was challenging and required me study each topic in depth to be able to fully comprehend the module in its entirety. The module required an ability to look at the bigger picture and make connections and comparisons between topics.

What has been the highlight of your time at Exeter?

The highlight of my time at Exeter was graduation day as it was an uplifting and heart-warming celebration of everyone’s hard work.

What has been the highlight of your time at Exeter?

I will miss the like-minded people I have met at university and being surrounded by passionate and hard-working individuals.

What did you enjoy about your particular degree programme?

I enjoyed the variety of modules I studied throughout my degree. I particularly enjoyed studying criminal law and tort law due to the emphasis of problem solving. From studying public international law and human rights law my knowledge of current events and politics has improved.

What advice would you give to current and future students?

My advice to current students would be to enjoy their remaining time as it really does fly by! I would also suggest studying with friends as this will allow you to exchange ideas and view things from a different perspective; developing your understanding further. My advice to future students is to choose modules you think you are going to enjoy as this will improve your motivation to study. Talk to students who are currently taking the module to gain a real insight into the structure and intensity of the course.

What are your plans now that you have graduated?

I am currently working as a barrister’s clerk which I plan to do for a couple of months to gain a real insight into the profession. After this time, I hope to gain experience as an assistant in a solicitor’s firm. Experiencing the inner workings of both sides of the profession will enable me to make an informed choice as to which route I shall pursue in the future.
