What has been the highlight of your time at Exeter?
The highlight of my time at the Exeter has been the friends I’ve made and people I have met along the way. Being a campus university, Exeter has a very homely feel and this encourages a very strong ‘Exeter spirit’.
What will you miss the most about University?
It will be an odd feeling not being on campus every day; I will miss the amazing atmosphere of the Forum, all the events and stalls on show during the day, and all the facilities available to the students.
What did you enjoy about your particular degree programme?
I loved Sociology because of the variety of modules available to me. Being a subject that focusses on current issues, our topics ranged from terrorism to immigration, from gender to globalization. Sociology was never boring, and I hope to be able to take much of what I have learned into the outside world.
What advice would you give to current and future students?
Be organized and do your readings every week! It can sometimes be hard to prioritise your work over socialising, but trust me it pays off in the end. When it comes down to your deadlines and exams, you’ll be thankful that you spread the workload over the entire year, rather than needing to cram. Also, never be afraid to ask for help, whether it’s from your lecturers, university staff or fellow students; everyone is there to support you, and want you to have the most enjoyable experience possible.
What are your plans now that you have graduated?
I’ve moved back home to London, and I am currently looking to start a career in Publishing and Copy Writing!
