LLB Law (2017) - & winner of the School of Law Prize & Hart Publishing Prize

Tell us about the award you have received. What does this award mean to you?

I have been awarded the School of Law prize for outstanding academic achievement, and the Hart Publishing Prize for achieving the highest mark in the Trust Law module. To me, these awards reinforce the notion that hard work pays off, and further motivates me to work hard towards achieving my future goals and ambitions.

What has been the highlight of your time at Exeter?

The highlight of my time at Exeter was interacting and creating strong relationships with many of the Academics and students at the university. Representing the university at the International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot in 2016 also allowed me to forge strong relationships with many individuals, including my team mates, coaches, and many of the other international teams who travelled to Exeter for the competition.

What will you miss the most about University?

Everything, from the bustling student environment to the never-ending climbs up the hills. Exeter is, as you know, probably the best university in the world.

What did you enjoy about your particular degree programme?

Although studying law has been a very enjoyable experience in general, I particularly enjoyed writing my dissertation in my final year on the constitutional impacts of Brexit. I was fortunate enough to have had a supportive supervisor who guided and challenged me throughout the entire process, and this facilitated a really enjoyable experience.

What advice would you give to current and future students?

Do not spend all your time in the library. Study smart, and more importantly, enjoy your time in Exeter and make many friends!

What are your plans now that you have graduated?

I am currently pursuing postgraduate legal studies, and I intend to pursue a career in the legal profession after.
