Campaign success celebrated at House of Lords reception

Supporters of the University gathered in the House of Lords to celebrate the success of the Campaign: Creating a world-class University together.

The reception, hosted by the Chancellor, Baroness Floella Benjamin OBE DL, Hon D. Litt (Exeter) in the Cholmondeley Room and Terrace on Tuesday 8th November, was an opportunity for those who had donated time or money to the Campaign to toast its achievements and impact.

The Campaign closed a year early in July having raised over £25 million, 8,536 volunteering hours and 216 legacy pledges.

The Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor & Chief Executive, Professor Sir Steve Smith, thanked the generosity and enthusiasm of the Exeter community, recognising the contribution made by our alumni and supporters to the continued success of the University.

Guests enjoyed the opportunity to socialise with fellow alumni, parents and friends of the University, with many taking advantage of the unique and historic setting by taking a tour behind-the-scenes of both Houses of Parliament.

The University would like to thank all those who supported the Campaign. Your support is helping re-energise our campuses, funding innovative research tackling some of the world’s most pressing issues and helping our students fulfil their potential, whatever their circumstances.
