Into the Dragons’ Den

Tom and Chris enter the den to ask for an investment in their clothing company, YoungOnes, which they set up whilst studying at Exeter. The entrepreneurial pair started off selling premium ‘onesies’ to Exeter students, but business soon took off and YoungOnes was soon providing custom onesies for universities around the UK and America.

Chris said “We went on the show to pitch our clothing company, YoungOnes, which we started whilst I was in my second year and Tom was in his third year. We wanted to show the Dragons that we are the next large student-based clothing brand, not just a onesie company.”

Both Chris and Tom were Sport Scholars in hockey during their time studying at the University of Exeter and helped Exeter to secure BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Championship titles in 2010 and 2012 and Exeter was ranked number one for the sport in the 2012/13 BUCS rankings. The pair are both now senior internationals, Tom playing for England and Chris representing the USA.
