The reunion brought together a wide range of alumni

C'est toujours aussi beau

So say the France Alumni Group who recently organised a reunion for French graduates, along with those who studied French, to return to Exeter and reminisce together.

A month later, they welcomed the Exeter University Club London branch to Provence.

The reunion brought together a wide range of alumni, from Bernie Sluman who graduated in 1954, through to Poppy Mason Taylor and Charlotte Sefton, who graduated in 2013. The France Alumni Group put together a flexible programme, including dinner in the city centre with an update from Professor Dan Charman, Dean of the College of Life and Environmental Sciences.

Everyone enjoyed meeting together and sharing their own experiences of Exeter. They were also given a tour of the campus, to see both new developments and old haunts by a current student who was also able to give them a snapshot of current student life.

Matt Chudet, one of the organisers and an ambassador for the University in France, said of the event: "This was a brilliant opportunity to bring my wife and little boy to Exeter to show them the University, and for me to see what's changed. I really enjoyed working with the University to organise the reunion - it was easy and it was great that so many people were able to join us. Even though I graduated 6 years ago and so much has changed, Exeter is still the Exeter I remember - green, vibrant and friendly."

A month later, a member of the France Alumni Group, Barbara Schudel (nee Simpson) was kept busy with Exeter University Club’s visit to Aix-en-Provence, where members of EUC enjoyed a tour of the area, as well as a lunch all together at a local hotel. The visit brought together long lost contacts, and the Exeter connection was an opportunity to have a warm welcome across the Channel.
