An alumni team flew the flag for Exeter in a special series of University Challenge, which was broadcast on BBC2 over Christmas and New Year. The team of three alumni and an Exeter academic took on opponents from Glasgow in the quiz, which was hosted by Jeremy Paxman. |

Alumnus Matthew Rusk knows business, having started a successful UK-wide guitar lessons network while still a student. He has taken over the post of Student Entrepreneur in Residence at Exeter to support budding student businesses in areas from iPhone repair to a socks social enterprise. |

The Exeter University Club comprises graduates, alumni and staff of the University of Exeter. The Club offers a range of social and cultural activities for members and their families through its locally-based branches. The newly re-formed Club is keen to hear from potential new members. |

Nearly 100 guests attended the first alumni carol concert in London at the historic St Mary Woolnoth. Alumni were involved in all aspects, including conducting the service and taking part in the choir. Students from the UK and around the world will have free access to some of the country’s top universities, including the University of Exeter, thanks to the new project FutureLearn Ltd being launched by The Open University. FutureLearn will announce details of its structure and courses early this year. |

The University of Exeter Business School is now offering a range of scholarships to world class, talented students who wish to pursue further study by undertaking a Masters degree. Awards range from £3,000 to full fees. |

International cycling team CMI Pro and the University of Exeter have formed a partnership to provide opportunities for talented and determined riders. The programme is unique amongst universities in the UK, and offers a pathway to compete at a international level. |
