Diabetes Links A team of researchers, including scientists from the Peninsula Medical School, a joint entity of the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth and the NHS, has discovered gene regions that affect a baby’s size at birth. One is also associated with type 2 diabetes, which helps to explain why small babies have higher rates of diabetes in later life.

Will you give your opinion to help research? One of the limits of opinion polls is that they don't tell us much about how people adjust their opinions based on the situation. ‘People are too intelligent to have a single opinion that is set in stone,’ says University of Exeter research psychologist Lesley Newson. ‘It depends on the situation.’ If you would like to take part in one of her opinion studies, please visit our website.
Double gold for Exeter hockey The University of Exeter are celebrating a rare double victory in the inter-university sporting competition after the Men’s Hockey first and second teams both took the gold medal in their respective competitions.
