Congratulations to Exeter alumni recognised in 2015 New Year Honours

Five exceptional Exeter alumni are recognised in the Queen’s New Year Honours list 2015.

Every year the list acknowledges the achievements of extraordinary people across the United Kingdom within their profession or voluntary service. The 2015 list includes Exeter alumni working in diverse areas - from health to law to construction to social sciences to engineering.

Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of the University Professor Sir Steve Smith said “It really is testament to the impact that Exeter has that so many of our alumni, supporters, and Honorary Graduates are on the Honours lists year after year.

The Honours list recognises their outstanding achievements and passion for the work they do, and I would like to offer all the recipients a heartfelt congratulations and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”

Liz Male, MBE. Chairman, Liz Male Consulting and Non-Executive Chair TrustMark - for services to the Construction Industry and Consumer Protection.

Robert Messenger, OBE.Deputy Director Treasury Solicitor’s Department - for services to Government Legal Services.

Kathryn Lampard, CBE. Vice Chairman, NHS South of England - for services to the National Health Service and to the community.

Sarah Buck, OBE Hon Deng. Fellow Institution of Structural Engineers and Director, BSW Consulting - for services to Engineering and Education.

Professor Dame Teresa Rees, CBEFRSA, Hon LLD. Professor of Social Science, Cardiff University - for services to Social Sciences.

The recipients will receive their award in person from a senior member of the Royal Family at an investiture later in the year.
