Exeter voted as UK’s top university for international students

The University secured the celebrated ‘International Category’ at the Whatuni Student Rankings awards, held on Thursday, 06 April. It is the second time in three years that Exeter has won the category at the celebrated award ceremony.

Exeter also claimed runner-up spot in the ‘Postgraduate’ category at the ceremony, which was held in London. More than 26,000 university students, from 126 universities across the UK cast their votes for the awards, which covered 12 individual categories.

Among the comments supporting Exeter’s nomination, one student said: “‘Exeter is a truly international space that allows opportunities to build relationships with people around the world. I made some good friends while at uni and the charm that the city added to our lives shall always be remembered.”

Professor Janice Kay, Provost of the University of Exeter said: ‘I am delighted we have received this accolade from students for the second time in three years.  What makes this award even more special is that it is based solely upon student views and confirms that students have a wonderful experience at Exeter which enhances their employment prospects in future.”

Speaking about Exeter’s victory at the ceremony, Katie Duncan, Editor of Hotcourses International said: “This is the second time the University of Exeter has claimed the coveted ‘International’ WUSCA, after it scooped the title two years ago. Through the Study Abroad Co-ordinator programme and the INTO Centre which offers comprehensive English language support, it’s no surprise that Exeter has always featured in the top 10 for International as it provides an inclusive and welcoming campus experience.
