Senior alumni support student and graduate careers in Hong Kong

Exeter Hong Kong Alumni Group volunteers organised their annual employability event, kindly hosted for the third year at the LinkedIn headquarters in Hong Kong.

85 guests – a mix of alumni, current and prospective students – grouped in speed networking teams to hear career ‘top tips’ from senior alumni and a Q&A session. Speakers covered a range of popular industry sectors, volunteers included: Robert Sherlock (BA Economics and Statistics, 1985) Chief Risk Officer, APAC at AXA Investment Managers, Gina Littlefair (BEng Mining Engineering, 1995) Sustainability Manager at The Hong Kong Jockey Club, and Raymond Goh (LLB Law, 1999) Board Member and Group General Counsel at China Travel Services.

The speakers also shared how their time at the University of Exeter had shaped their career journey. Guests benefitted from an insightful presentation on LinkedIn and its impact on graduate careers and benefit for recruitment in Hong Kong by Karen Kim, LinkedIn’s Senior Relationship Manager.

Committee members of the alumni group were on hand to deliver another successful event and network group Chair, Chris Tang (LLB Law, 1996) welcomed guests and encouraged them to keep in touch and expand their professional network via the LinkedIn group and Facebook group for Hong Kong.
