Thank you to alumni who gave to the telethon.

Spring telethon success

Alumni and supporters have got behind their University to pledge more than £70,000 and offer time as volunteers.

The spring Telethon saw 50 students speaking to graduates right around the world, including Hong Kong for the first time. They updated people on news from the University and changes on the campuses.

Jessica Sargent a 3rd Year Drama student said: “Working as a telethon caller for the past two years has been a joy. I've spoken to some fascinating people that have done some incredible things with their lives so it’s great to hear the journeys people have taken to get where they are today!”

As a result of the calls 600 pledges were made totalling £72,000. These funds will go to support projects which enhance the student experience at Exeter. There were also 128 requests to find out more about volunteering.

Rose Hinks, Regular Giving Manager said: “The Telethon is always a great opportunity for alumni and students to connect. We try to ensure students speak to people who were on the same course, or have similar interests. I know the students really enjoy these conversations and find them very useful. Judging from our feedback, alumni value them too.

“We would like to thank all those people who shared their experiences with the students, pledged a gift or offered some of their time to help.”
