Class of 2010 leave a lasting legacy
The Class of 2010 has left a legacy of £1,000 to the University and future students.
Led by a student committee with support from the University’s Development and Alumni Relations Office, The Class of 2010 set out to raise money in support of their chosen project – contributing toward the refurbishment of the Ram Bar. Refurbishment will take place in the coming years. The Class’s gift will be recognised in the Ram.
Over the spring and summer terms, culminating in graduation week, the Class of 2010 committee raised £1,000 from more than 250 students, meaning that 7% of the Class of 2010 donated. All those who donated were invited to a free drinks reception in the Long Lounge just before the Graduation Ball on 17 July 2010.
Members of the committee, led by chair Bertie Archer (Politics 2010) , presented a cheque for the full amount to the University’s Chancellor, Baroness Floella Benjamin OBE DL, at the Graduation Ball, on behalf of all student donors.
Holly Peterson, Head of Alumni Relations, says: ‘The University would like to thank our newest donors. We look forward to welcoming you back to campus when the Ram refurbishment is complete to see what you have helped achieve. We look forward to working with the Class of 2011 in the coming year on their chosen project.’
