
Student ambassadors have the opportunity to get involved with a wide range of events.
Examples of typical work
Student ambassadors working for the Student Recruitment Office are trained and normally work on the following events:
HE/Schools careers fairs
Student Ambassadors attend careers fairs held in schools and colleges and assist in the promotion of Exeter as an institution. They also provide a useful insight into the student experience.
Leading campus tours
Student ambassadors lead our campus tours (daily on the Streatham Campus, twice weekly at St. Luke's and weekly at Cornwall.)
Supporting/leading incoming visits from schools and colleges
Student Ambassadors assist in the programme of activities offered to incoming school visits. This may range from running a campus tour to delivering presentations on student life, choosing a course, or managing finances.
Residentials/Summer Schools
Student ambassadors are employed to work on residentials run on campus aimed at providing students with an insight into University life.
Open Days/Offer-Holder Visit Days
Student ambassadors take a central role in the running of our pre-application Open Days and Offer-Holder Visit Days held at various times throughout the year.
UCAS Higher Education Conventions
Some student ambassadors attend the UCAS Higher Education Conventions held around the country and assist in the promotion of the University and its student experience.
Tutoring Programme
Student ambassadors are engaged in regular tutoring sessions working within schools and colleges in the South West in a bid to increase awareness of Higher Education and the opportunities available.
Modern Foreign Languages Tutoring Programme
Language specialist student ambassadors work in schools and colleges aiming to increase awareness of modern foreign languages and demonstrate possible progression routes.
STAR Programme/Realising Opportunities
Student Ambassadors will have the opportunity to work on the STAR programme which supports young people in years 11-13 with the decision making process. The University is also part of the national Realising Opportunities programme and student ambassadors support this programme engaging in an e-mentoring platform with students across the UK.
