Views of the World Around: Panoramas

The Bill Douglas and Peter Jewell Collection includes a wide-ranging sample of items relating to one of the nineteenth century's most influential ways of representing the world: the Panorama. The examples listed here illustrate only a few of the various forms of this large-scale medium and the ways in which it permeated cultural life for over a century.
