| Location | Poldhu Room, Kay Building |
This post-launch workshop, led by Professor Peter Ashwin, was an opportunity to hear about Bridging the Gaps projects at other universities, contribute to shaping the future content of the Exeter Science Exchange project and find out how to apply for project funds.
Professor John Bessant gave a short introduction to the Innovation Strand of the Exeter Science Exchange. Guest speakers Professor Peter Johnson, PI of Bath University’s BTG and James Paskins, Project Manager for the BTG at UCL told us about their experiences of running BTG projects, which activities had worked best, what hadn’t worked so well and the resulting benefits for their institutions.
Over coffee, participants discussed ideas for the Exeter Science Exchange, what types of events they would like to attend, how to overcome barriers to collaboration and how to make use (or not) of virtual research environments.
Helen Butler gave an overview of how to apply for money from the development fund and participants continued discussing their ideas over a buffet lunch.
