Time 09.00-14.00

The third in our series of BTG Showcase events focussed on the College of Life and Environmental Sciences (CLES) and began with an introduction to Bridging the Gaps and the Showcase by Professor David Butler (Principal Investigator, Bridging the Gaps) and to CLES by Professor Mark Goodwin (Dean) and  Professor Michelle Ryan (Associate Dean for Research and Knowledge Transfer). We then heard presentations from each of the main disciplines in the College, highlighting existing multidisciplinary projects and some possible areas for new collaborative work:

  • Biosciences - Professor Nick Smirnoff
  • Sports and Health Sciences - Professor Melvyn Hillsdon
  • Psychology - Professor Andy Wills
  • Physical Geography - Professor Rolf Aalto
  • Human Geography - Professor Steve Hinchliffe

The event concluded with a general discussion about working across disciplines and lunch.
