Working with the public and private sectors, we apply world leading research in areas including the management of natural capital, ecosystem services and rural policy. We work closely with Natural Capital and Ecosystem services including South West Environment and Economic Prosperity Partnership (SWEEP) and Environmental Growth for Business (EG4B) which focus on the role of Natural Capital and Ecosystem Services in growing the economy and businesses in the South West.
Our Sustainable Intensification work, including the Defra Sustainable Intensification Platform project, is focused on increasing farm output and competitiveness whilst simultaneously protecting the countryside and enhancing the environment. Current project areas include:
- Valuation of natural capital
- Energy policy
- Rural policy
- Sustainable buildings, the built environment and environmental policy
