Case study: Researching with AstraZeneca

Could chemicals released into our rivers be responsible for changing the sexual make up of fish? A long-term study by our researchers is investigating whether chemicals discharged from human activity can affect reproductive functions and development in wildlife. Funding into so-called endocrine disrupting chemicals has come from various European research councils, government agencies and associated industries. But it seems a knowledge transfer partnership between the University and pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca may offer a key break through.
