Health and Safety
Safe working is a key priority for Campus Services. We must continue to improve our Health and Safety performance across the team to support the wellbeing of ourselves, our colleagues and our customers. The University as our employer and Director of Campus Services, Geoff Pringle, care about all of our staff and are committed to ensuring the University is a safe and healthy place to work.

Information
We are looking at improving our safety record further through a more structured approach where staff at all levels can get involved, as follows:
Executive Team Lead – Wendy Courtney, Assistant Director Business Support – Wendy is the main strategic lead for Healthy and Safety across our service.
H&S Adviser for Campus Services – Steve Jones (EDS) - Steve has agreed to support everyone in Campus Services with Health and Safety and has been involved in the development of the new policy and other initiatives.
Assisting H&S Adviser – Mark Williams Business Support Manager – Mark is supporting Wendy & Steve in implementing the new Health and Safety Management Structure within Campus Services.
H&S Co-ordinators – to assist Service Managers in their responsibilities. We will be looking for people to fulfil this role. The coordinators will be supported by the H&S Adviser. They will also form part of the communication chain to staff and from staff.
Risk Profile – a term that you’ll hear more of – it’s about the Service you work in and what you do (we are a very diverse organisation within Campus Services so it varies from catering to tree surgery).
Risk Assessments – a structured approach which will require assessments for buildings under Campus Services control and then task assessments which staff carry out (already many in place from H&S office).
