What if a machine has a fault?

All the new MFDs are monitored by Xerox remotely. They are able to tell if:

  • A machine requires toner or other consumables.
  • The machine is jammed.
  • The machine has a fault that requires an engineer (in 80% of cases).

Consumables will be sent automatically.

If the machine has a jam that you are able to clear, please do so, but if you are unable to clear the problem, please call  the University of Exeter IT Helpdesk on ext 3934

The Helpdesk will ask for the device serial number and your location. The serial number will be visible at the machine on the sticker.

The Helpdesk will try to resolve your problem if possible, and if unable to, they will forward your call to Print and Copy Services.

The Xerox website will give you PDF quick guides, full user guides and interactive guides for the MFDs. Just use the search bar and type in the device model number.
