Or... Got absolutely none of the above but are bursting at the seams with brilliant ideas?

Then ELEVATE is for you!

Please note: We are pushing the Elevate launch back to January in order to have a clear run from inception to presentation in March.  We will email all registered attendees, however if you have friends and fellow students who were attending but had not registered please could you inform them of the change. We look forward to seeing you in January. Please continue to register so we can inform you of the new launch date.

Elevate is a ground-breaking entrepreneurial competition supporting students to develop innovative ideas that benefit the UK’s economy and society. With a top prize of £1,500 it presents an unrivalled opportunity to turn an innovative concept into a fully funded start-up.

The competition is open to all students and is funded by the prestigious Engineers in Business Fellowship (EIBF).

What’s involved

  • You’ll take part in a launch event and four entrepreneurial workshops on campus from January 2019
  • With the support of Engineering academics, your team will come up with an idea and develop a business plan
  • You’ll pitch your idea to a panel
  • The winning team will receive £1,500 and support to turn their idea into a start-up

Elevate seeks to support entrepreneurship in its truest form. You will be encouraged to think big, embrace your creativity and develop innovative ideas which demonstrate your capacity to deliver commercial and societal value.

The prize

  • The winning team will be awarded £1,500 and supported to turn their idea into reality
  • There are prizes of £1,000 for second runners up and £500 for third runners up
  • Engaging with the EIBF through the competition will differentiate your CV as you set out on your career, whatever your area of study

The rules

  • Open to undergraduates and postgraduates in all disciplines across Exeter and Cornwall Campuses
  • Teams must contain at least one engineering student (studying an Engineering, Mining Engineering or Renewable Energy degree)

How to take part

You can register now for the Elevate launch event in January, as an individual, a team or part-team.

If your team is not fully-formed we will help you to find like-minded entrepreneurs that you can develop a project with. We can also help with idea creation.

Remember: you don’t have to be an engineer to enter, you just need at least one engineer in your team.

There will be separate launch events on Streatham and Penryn campus. We will contact you with the date and location of the event for your campus.
