Tier 1 Visas

The University of Exeter is one of the UK Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) which is authorised to endorse a number of its graduates’ applications for the Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) Visa.

The Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) route is for graduates who do not have a job offer from an employer, but instead have an outstanding business idea that they wish to put into practice in the UK. HEIs will have a central role in identifying graduates who have developed genuine and credible business ideas or entrepreneurial skills, and in endorsing and supporting them.

For information on applying for a Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) visa, please contact the International Student Support Office sid@exeter.ac.uk as early as possible.

In order to be an authorised institution the University of Exeter must have an established process for identifying, nurturing and developing entrepreneurs amongst its undergraduate and post-graduate population.

The University of Exeter has established the Think, Try, Do, Student Startup Support programme in order to equip and enable its students to develop and start genuine, credible and innovative business ideas. In order to receive an endorsement it is essential that applicants have had a significant involvement in the Think, Try, Do programme and have received business support and validation from the Student Startup Support team.

In order to fulfil its duties and responsibilities to the UKVI the University of Exeter will not endorse Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) applications from students who cannot demonstrate their involvement in the Think, Try, Do programme.
