Joe spent his 2012 summer working in Pondicherry, India for the charity Prime Trust. Working for Prime Trust made him gain more independence and acquire new skills whilst working with a variety of people. Josephine spent her year abroad in 2010/2011 working as a British Council English Language Assistant in Liege, Belgium. The placement helped her not only improve her French language skills but also gain great confidence in herself as a teacher after seeing her students' progress in English. Lara spent nine months in 2011/2012 as an English Language Assistant in Almeria in Spain at Les Sol de Portocarrero- a bilingual secondary school. Improving her Spanish helped her gain confidence but also made her want to capitalise on her language skills in her future career. Santiago spent four months in 2012 working in the corporate banking division for a major French bank, Caisse d'Épargne, in Paris. Rosanna did a work placement in Ravenna, Italy, working at the International Centre for the Documentation of Mosaic, which is part of the Museo d’Arte della Citta di Ravenna. "I wanted to spend time working in a museum environment and to do so in Italy, one of the world’s most important and celebrated cultural heritages, was too good an opportunity to pass up."
