Support:

When you begin your internship please work through your Internship Induction Checklist with your line manager.

You will be provided with a "How to Make the Most of Your Internship" guide to work through. We ask employers to set clear objectives for interns, and to review and evaluate your progress throughout the duration of the internship. Employers may have their own internal review procedures, or you may choose to work through the University's Internship Performance Development Review paperwork together.

The internships team are available to support you and your employer with any issues throughout your internship. You can contact us at londoninternships@exeter.ac.uk

If you need to use public transport to travel to your internship, you can find useful information on Transport for London and The Trainline

Do you need some accommodation in London while you complete your internship? You can find reasonably priced rooms and flats (including Monday-Friday rentals only) on University Rooms ; Spare Rooms and Gumtree

Employers on this scheme have been asked to pay a minimum of £10.10 per hour (London living wage). You will be paid in line with your employer's payroll deadlines and tax and National Insurance deductions will apply. If you have earned less than the UK tax allowance in this financial year, you can apply for a tax rebate from HMRC in April 2018.

If you meet the Graduate WP Criteria you may also be eligible to receive a bursary to help with any personal costs, such as travel on your internship. If you qualify for the £250 bursary please make sure that your bank details are up to date on your student record to ensure that this grant is paid to you without delay.

Every quarter we take one intern to the Exeter Leaders Forum. It is a fantastic opportunity for you to network with senior professionals from the local business community, and represent all that is best about the University’s internships schemes. To book a place, please email Jo McCreedie.

A requirement of the internships is that at the end of your internship you have to complete the Internship Evaluation (Intern) Form and also encourage your line manager  to complete the Internship Evaluation (Employer) Form

You may even wish to blog about your experiences. Click here to read what others have written. To submit your blog please email Jenny Woolacott-Scarr.

All parties (the employer, the University and the intern), must adhere to the following A2I Terms and Conditions.
