Chapel Choir

In September 2013, the University Chapel Choir will start afresh under the new Organist and Director of Music, Michael Graham.

The choir will be formed of 16 choral scholars (4 Sopranos, 4 altos, 4 tenors and 4 basses) with the addition of an organ scholar. The choral scholarships are worth £100 and the organ scholarship is worth £200.

The choir’s principal role is to sing Evensong every Wednesday and Sunday Eucharist on alternate weeks in the beautiful Mary Harris Chapel, which has a fine acoustic for music.

The choir will also sing Evensong in Exeter Cathedral at least twice a term as well as visiting other Cathedrals in the UK. The choir will give regular concerts in Exeter and further afield.

The scholars of the University Chapel are expected to commit to:

Wednesday

  • 4:30pm Rehearsal
  • 5pm Evensong

Alternate Sundays

  • 10am rehearsal
  • 11am Eucharist
  • 1 weekly 2-hour rehearsal on a night to be confirmed in September.

Any prospective scholars should please email michaelrtgraham@gmail.com

Auditions will take place in Freshers' week.
