Alex Manley

(Chapel Warden)

Hello. I'm Alex and have been a member of the Anglican Chapel Committee for two years now. I'm one of the three Chapel Wardens for The Mary Harris Chapel. I am studying a BA degree in Human Geography and am currently in the middle of my final year. I enjoy playing music, in particular the saxophone and clarinet and also coach tennis to childrens' groups at my local club.

Alexander Baldwin-Smith

(Chapel Virger)
I’m Alexander, I am in the second year of reading for a BA in History and I’m an A-Team member. My role in the Mary Harris Memorial Chapel is as the Virger, this involves acting as a welcomer, checking that the Chapel is in a tidy state before the service and generally doing any jobs that need to be done in and around the Chapel. If you attend Chapel on a Sunday you might see me handing out Hymn Books and Orders of Service, hopefully giving a warm welcome to the service. I also took control of the Chaplaincy BBQ during welcome week, without too much fire and damage caused to either the Chapel or the surrounding area. I attend the Chapel on Sundays as well as some Morning Prayers and sometimes Evensong on a Wednesday. I would describe myself as a traditionalist Anglican. Outside of the Chapel, I am the publicity officer for the Methodist and Anglican society and am a keen if not very good Golfer.

Lana Woolford

(Chapel Warden)

Hi I'm Lana, one of the Mary Harris Chapel Wardens, and also the Creative Marketing assistant for the A-Team. As a Chapel Warden I ensure that everyone has a warm welcome before the Sunday service and a hot cup of tea after! I've also been putting a few ideas together to raise awareness of the Multi-faith Chaplaincy throughout the University, so if you anything you like (or don't like) let me know. I'm currently in my second year, studying for an MPhys with Professional Experience. In my spare time I play in the university folk band or head to the pub, although you're just as likely to find me with a cup of tea as a pint of cider!

Daisy Atkin

(Chapel Warden)

Hello there. My name is Daisy, and I'm a final year Physical Geography student. I'm currently writing a fascinating (!) dissertation on rivers and plan on going into education after completing my undergrad. I love Chapel and feel very proud to be a part of its working life here at Exeter. My primary role as Chapel Warden is to welcome new and old students, hand out hymn books, scout out readers, and occasionally I serve tea/do the washing up (very occasionally). I also organise the social life and events for Chapel, although I've now been banned from using the BBQ after setting fire to it in Freshers' week. When I'm not in Chapel I'm usually to be found at St. David's Church where I run the bellringing society, or if I'm feeling sporty I'll be on the back of a horse. Failing that, I can be found in the Amory maps library or complaining to the geography office about how slow their IT system is. I look forward to welcoming you to our community here at the Mary Harris Memorial Chapel - and having a cuppa with you afterwards!
