Choral Evensong

During term time, the Chapel Choir sing Choral Evensong in the Anglican tradition every Wednesday at 5pm in the Mary Harris Memorial Chapel on Streatham Campus.

All are welcome to this beautiful service of sung evening prayer, and to the refreshments which follow, upstairs in the Old Library just opposite the Chapel.

Occasionally the choir will instead sing Choral Evensong at St Luke's Chapel and Exeter Cathedral – notification will be made here when this is the case.

A beautiful service of choral music, sung by the Chapel Choir.

Responses: Leighton
Psalm: 119
Canticles: Collegium Magdalenae Oxoniense – Leighton
Anthem: Te Deum – Herbert Howells

This special Evensong service will conclude with reflective prayers, followed by the anthem Lux Aeterna in tribute to those who lost their lives in the recent bombing in Manchester.

All are welcome to stay for tea and coffee which will be served after the service, downstairs in the Old Library, just opposite the Chapel.

This service will be the last Choral Evensong of the current academic year.

Please Note

On Wednesday 31st May, instead of Choral Evensong, the Choir will be singing a Choral Eucharist for the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary at 5.30pm at Exeter Cathedral.

On Wednesday 7th June, instead of Choral Evensong, the Choir will be singing a Choral Eucharist for the Leavers' Service — this service takes place at 5pm in the Mary Harris Chapel and all are welcome.

Choral Evensong will then pause for the Summer Break, returning in the Autumn for a new academic year — with new choir members! Details will be updated here over the holiday.
