Alice Hutchings

Anglican Chaplaincy Administrator

Alice is a former student of the University. She is one of the eight graduates who pioneered the new Law degree LLB(European), spending her third year in France at the University of Aix Marseille. Alice then spent a few months working for a law firm in New York before doing her training contract in London with Frere Cholmeley.

After a few years practising as an employment lawyer, Alice switched to teaching at the College of Law (now University of Law) where she stayed until her family moved to Exeter in 2006. Alice worked for a number of years with Exeter-based law firm Michelmores, as Legal Training Manager, before joining the Anglican Chaplaincy Team as Chaplaincy Administrator in 2016.

Alice is married to James, an Anglican priest in the Diocese of Exeter. They have three children (grown up, or nearly) and enjoy living in this beautiful part of the world.

Alice works part-time which gives her time to pursue other interests; these include acting and singing as well as being involved in her local churches. She also helps organise the annual TEDxExeter Conference which takes place each year in April at the University.
