Tony Reese, Jewish Chaplain

Hi!

I have been appointed by the Jewish community in Exeter to be a Jewish chaplain.

This means that I will try to be available to talk to anyone, student or staff, whether Jewish or not, about anything to do with spiritual well-being or Judaism.

I am also available if you have any worries and I will try to help in any way I can.

As part of the Chaplaincy team, I am here for anyone of any faith, or none.  If you see me, please say hello.  If you have questions, please ask.  As a Jew, I love questions - I don't promise answers, in fact I will probably answer you with more questions, but I love discussing the big questions we can't answer, as well as trying to help with the smaller questions which get in the way.  And often those smaller questions get bigger and bigger if you can't find someone to talk to.

I am usually around on Tuesdays or Thursdays and on Fridays.  I am usually in the Forum at lunchtime and in the Old Library for the rest of the day.  Sometimes I will be at Birks Grange for tea, and I will usually stay in Exeter for  Friday evening.  Ask at the SID desk or at the Chaplaincy Hub in the Old Library  if you cannot see me.    Drop by for a chat, a coffee, and anything else.   I run a Basic Biblical Hebrew Class at 2pm on Friday afternoons which is open to anyone.  It is very free-ranging and allows for a discussion about anything remotely connected with Judaism or with study.  This is usually followed by a short afternoon service at 4pm - all in the Old Library Chaplaincy Quiet Room on the top floor.

Call me any time, or just say hello if you see me.
