In the second year you will advance your grasp of classics knowledge, methods, and texts through a set of compulsory modules. Optional modules enable you to develop specialist knowledge on a range of topics.

The modules you will take are:

CLA2005 or CLA2006

a One Classical Languages and Texts module at the appropriate level

b At least one module from the Text and Context category

c At least one module from the Ancient Sources (Material Evidence) category

A further 30 credits from the list of Classics and Ancient History options.

Alternatively up to 30 credits can be taken from another programme, using your modularity option.

Compulsory modules

Modules CLA2005 and CLA2006 run in alternate years. Students will take whichever module is running.

Students who did not take Ancient World Philosophy in year 1, must take it in year 2.
