Chez manages the Student Employability & Academic Success team based on the Penryn campus, who are a team of 20 staff with four student assistants supporting our work in between their studies. The service provides curricular and extra-curricular careers, employability and fieldtrip support to students and graduates through close working with academic colleagues and other Professional Services staff. Alongside line management duties, Chez oversees allocation of support across all the Cornwall based academic disciplines and is a key on-campus link to discuss anything related to careers provision and fieldtrips. She sits on a number of policy groups for placements, study abroad, fieldtrips, student progression and international student employability. Ultimately, Chez is responsible for improving access for students and graduates to our employability support so that our students graduate with a clear career in mind and a graduate job secured.

I work in the Research Development and Management pillar of Research Services. I lead the Research Services structure that provides support to academics at both Cornwall campuses across the full research project lifecycle. Our activities include supporting Cornwall-led research themes, horizon scanning, research development, research bidding and research project delivery. We also provide funder expertise across the University for the Leverhulme Trust.

Louise leads the Innovation, Impact & Business team in Cornwall and is responsible for the strategic economic development work of the University’s Cornwall campus, contributing to the University’s wider regional plans and ambitions.
The IIB Cornwall team delivers a portfolio of projects aimed at the economic regeneration of the region through research, innovation and business support.

My role is to manage Technical Services support for the Penryn Campus, along with wider responsibilities for some activities across the Campus, such as fulfilling the role of Biological Safety Officer. As part of this role I have responsibility for Technical Services support within the ESI. This includes line management of Technical Services staff, maintenance of building systems, liaison with FX Plus, responsibility for refurbishments and upgrades and for Health and Safety management.
