BA History and Politics (Joint Honours)

This Joint Honours programme brings together History modules that include an engagement with the politics of past societies, with political analysis that includes study of the historical development of political thought. The programme allows you to explore the history of various societies across the globe and the connections and comparisons between them but is also firmly based in practical techniques and fieldwork.

• History Foundation

• 1 History Perspectives module. Current list:

- British Economic Performance since 1945

• 1 History Sources and Skills module. Current list:

- The World of Samuel and Elizabeth Jeake, 1660-1714- The Victorian Supernatural
- American Immigration: Nativism in the Progressive Era, 1880-1924
- Japan in Transformation since 1945
- The 'Greening' of the West: The Idea of Environment, 1945-1980

• History of Political Thought: From Ancient Greece to Early Christianity

• History of Political Thought: From the Middle Ages to the Renaissance

• 30 credits (typically 1-2 modules) from Politics. Current list:

- State of Britain: Actors and Agenda Setting in UK Public Policy
