Smart Specialisation through Higher Level skills

The SS -HLS Project, part funded through the European Social Fund, runs from September 2020-August 2023.

The programme brings together five educational institutions (Truro & Penwith College, the University of Exeter, Falmouth University, Plymouth University and Cornwall College) to engage with businesses and identify training gaps and course development opportunities in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

 

Through the programme we will focus on the following:

The Smart Specialisation Business Need in Higher Level Skills project will deliver a co-ordinated employer-led approach to facilitate and expedite greater engagement in higher level skills through the co-development and trialling of innovative new provision, alternative delivery models and high quality work placements.

The project is receiving up to £1.72 million of (part) funding from the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England. The Department for Work and Pensions (and in London the intermediate body Greater London Authority) is the Managing Authority for the England European Social Fund programme. Established by the European Union, the European Social Fund helps local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support skills development, employment and job creation, social inclusion and local community regenerations.
