The Compass

On The Exchange's ground floor you'll find The Compass, a student information service that provides an interface with, and referral to, a range of academic and support services. Staff within the Compass provide a reassuring port of call for students, and respond quickly and professionally to a variety of needs and queries. See details of drop-in support sessions available in The Compass.

The Compass was created in consultation with students, the students' union (FXU) and teams - from the University of Exeter and Falmouth University - covering Admissions, Accessibility, Accommodation, ASK: Academic Skills, Academic Services, Bursaries, Careers, the Chaplaincy, Counselling, Dyslexia Skills, Specialist Academic Support, Postgraduate Placements, the ASU / Registry, Finance and Living Support.

The students' preference was for a dedicated space where they could access, or be signposted to, the full range of services available across the campus, from early in the morning into the evening, with well-trained, friendly staff providing support and a suite of rooms set aside for private conversations and advice.

This, in short, is just what The Compass provides.

Bookable rooms

The Compass has seven bookable rooms specifically available for staff to meet with students to offer guidance and counselling, etc. Three of these rooms accommodate eight to ten people, the other four accommodate five people. For enquiries and booking, please email thecompass@fxplus.ac.uk
