Student satisfaction at Exeter amongst the best in prestigious Russell Group

The University of Exeter has maintained its position as one of the leading Russell Group universities for overall student satisfaction, it has been confirmed.

The University has been ranked 3rd out of the 24 leading UK research-led institutions in the Overall Satisfaction category of the National Student Survey (NSS) 2019, announced on July 3 2019.

Exeter achieved a score of 87 per cent in the category – similar to previous years – to cement its position in the top 3 of the Russell Group.

Categories focusing on teaching (86%) and learning resources (87%) also scored highly in the independent annual survey, one of the key indicators of how students rate their time at university.

Professor Tim Quine, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) of the University of Exeter, said:

"We are pleased to see these results confirm our established status as a leading Russell Group university for excellent teaching quality and student satisfaction. 72% of our eligible students respond to the survey - we would like to thank them all for their invaluable feedback.

This result is testament to the commitment and hard work of our staff, and their outstanding approach to teaching and learning – we are extremely grateful to them.

“As a University we work together to provide an education and student experience of the highest quality, supporting our students from around the globe to realise their potential.

“Education should be transformational and create graduates who make a positive difference in the world and we will continue to listen to student feedback such as this to make enhancements for the benefit of all.”

The National Student Survey was launched in 2005 and is open to all final year degree students at institutions in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
